ValidityEdit

ID cards with Machine Readable Data

citizens under the age of 15 years - 5 years
citizens over the age of 15 years - 10 years
citizens over the age of 70 years - 35 years

ID cards without Machine Readable Data

It is valid for 6 months, if not to issue identity cards with machine readable data because of a technical malfunction of the device to preserve its production or to a disaster or other emergency.
It is valid for 3 months, if a citizen requests it immediately after the acquisition of Czech citizenship.
It is valid for 1 month at the request of a citizen in the event of loss, theft, damage or destruction of identity card, after the cancellation information on the place of residence , or if the citizen needs an identity card in connection with the exercise of voting rights ; request for his extradition is administered concurrently with the application for issuing an identity card with machine readable data.

InstructionsEdit

ID card may also have citizen whose legal capacity was limited.
ID card can be issued upon request and citizens under 15 years of age or citizen who has permanent residence in the Czech Republic.
Conditions for ID issuance:
- For citizen older than 15 years; submitting the application and documents required for issuing an identity card can authorize another person who is not required to demonstrate the power of attorney (if a citizen decides that for the purpose of issuing an identity card with machine readable data uses photo and signature kept in the information system of identity card records or information system for travel documents from the acquisition of elapsed time is longer than 1 year)
- For citizen younger than 15 years of his legal representative. Instead the legal representative may submit a request to the foster parent, a person who was a citizen under 15 years of age placed in the care or director of facilities for institutional care or facilities for children requiring immediate assistance care based on a court decision on the citizen younger than 15 years; These people attach to the request parental consent to his notarized signature. A certified signature is not required if the legal representative expressed his agreement and sign the application before the municipal authority of a municipality with extended powers, in which the application is made. Parental consent is not required if the measures connected with an obstacle difficult to be overcome,
- For a citizen whose legal capacity is limited so that it is eligible to apply for issuing an identity card, a request guardian or other legal representative if he has not been appointed guardian,
- For citizens older than 15 years on the issue of identity cards also ask the household member whose authorization to represent citizen has been approved by the court.
There are two types of Identity Card:
- identity card with machine readable data
- identity card without machine readable data
For the issuance of identity card with machine readable data, it is required for the applicant to apply personally in order to take his photograph and signature.
Documents must be submitted in original, certified copy or certified copy.
