Czech Republic - Apply for Firearms License (for Legal Entities)

ProcedureEdit

  1. Go to the appropriate police department, which is the Regional Police Directorate , Department of Services for weapons and security equipment, according to the place of residence of a natural or registered office of legal persons, is by address residence of a citizen of the Czech Republic or address of permanent or temporary residence of foreigners.
  2. Fill out the application form for the issuance of arms licenses or extension of its groups. Both forms can be picked up at any police regional headquarters.
  3. Submit required documents along with the completed application form.
  4. Pay the fees.

EligibilityEdit

  • Arms licenses are issued by the competent department of the police to a natural person or legal entity who has:
    • a residence or registered office in the Czech Republic ( 33 para. 1 of the Firearms Act) and
    • holds the concession documents in the field of weapons and ammunition, asking if the issue of arms licenses in groups A, B, C, D, E or F in the field of pyrotechnic survey asks if the issue of arms licenses to a group proves that it is entitled to carry out activities for which a request for a firearms license, the case for arms license group G, H, I and J, and this activity needs a weapon, ammunition or prohibited weapon accessory.

Note: Arms licenses will be issued only in case if a person or his or her authorized representative, if appointed, or representative, or member of the statutory body of the legal person fulfills the conditions of integrity pursuant to 22 of the Firearms Act and reliability in accordance with 23 of the Arms Act.

ValidityEdit

  • Arms licenses issued before the entry into force of the Firearms Act is considered a firearms license expires 24 months after the entry into force of the Firearms Act.
  • The period of validity of the arms licenses is 10 years, or even less on the basis of a report on the fitness of the applicant for his release. Its validity is not extended after its expiry on the basis of an application accompanied by the necessary documents issued new gun license.
  • The request for a new firearms certificate must be filed with the appropriate police department first six months and no later than two months before the expiry of its validity.

  • Application forms can be picked up at any police regional headquarters or downloaded and printed. Their printing must be color and duplex.
  • The request for a new firearms certificate must be filed with the appropriate police department first six months and no later than two months before the expiry of its validity.
  • The application can be represented based on the power of attorney (signed power of attorney need not be authenticated).

Need for the DocumentEdit

Firearms license is an official document which entitles the legal or natural person to acquire and possess firearms or ammunition within the scope of the powers provided for individual groups or arms license to operate a pyrotechnic survey by the authorization provided for an arms license group K ( 31 of the Firearms Act).

Firearms license are distinguished by the reason for the use of arms or ammunition range of privileges to groups ( 31 of the Firearms Act):

  • A - D, manufacture arms or ammunition,
  • B - repair, modification or degradation of weapons or ammunition.
  • C - purchase, sale, or transportation of firearms or ammunition,
  • D - lending arms or storage of weapons or ammunition.
  • E - destruction or degradation of weapons or ammunition.
  • F - teaching or training in shooting,
  • G - ensuring property and personal security,
  • H - implementation of sporting, cultural and leisure activities,
  • I - operation of museum or collection activities,
  • J - assurance tasks under a special law,
  • K - operation pyrotechnic survey.
