ProcedureEdit

  1. Obtain and fill up the application form.
  2. Submit your application along with all other required documents.


Note:

  • Residence registered for a period of one year, and after the lapse of one year may be extended for another year. Registration can also last longer than a year if there is a need for a citizen to stay in the registered residence for education, perform tasks temporarily or is placed in an institution, application must be accompanied by appropriate documentation. In these cases, registration must be extended every year.
  • A citizen needs to re-apply their registration if they stayed outside Croatia after the expiry of five years from the day of departure. This may be done at the police administration or station directly or through the Croatian diplomatic missions and consular offices abroad. In case their is a need for the citizen to stay abroad for a longer period, their registration must be renewed every three years by submitting the form and attaching proper documentation that will state the reason why the citizen must stay outside the country.
  • Those who have registered permanent residence in the Republic of Croatian but do not have a valid ID card, as well as persons who have registered permanent residence to addresses that are not registered in the Register of Spatial Units (nonexistent addresses) are required to re-apply their residence registration at the police administration/station that covers their area.

Required DocumentsEdit

First application of residence:

  • Abstract of birth or birth certificate
  • Certificate of Citizenship
  • Proof of identity
  • A signed statement confirming that the applicant is residing in the address in which he/she wants to register as residence (those who will make a false statement will be held liable and pay a fine in the amount of 500.00 to 5,000.00 kn.)
  • Certified statement of the landlord giving consent to the application, if a citizen reported residence at the landlord (the landlord can give consent directly to the police department / police department that keeps track of residence registration stanoprimca)
  • Completed application Form No.1


For change of residence (check-out and check-in):

  • Identification
  • A signed statement confirming that the applicant is temporarily residing in the town and the address at which he/she wants to register their residence (those who will make a false statement will be held liable and pay a fine in the amount of 500.00 to 5,000.00 kn.)
  • Certified statement of the landlord giving consent to the application, if a citizen reported residence at the landlord (the landlord can give consent directly to the police department / police department that keeps track of residence registration stanoprimca)

InstructionsEdit

Your application to register your residence shall be submitted to the police administration / police station (PU / PP) that covers your area of residence.

If a citizen will be living abroad for a period longer than a year, notice must be submitted to the police department or station where you have registered your residence. In case you failed to submit your notification while you are still in Croatia, notice may be submitted through the Croatian diplomatic missions and consular offices in the country where you are currently staying abroad. You must state your reason for staying abroad and submit appropriate documentation. After returning to Croatia, there is a need for the citizen to re-apply his/her registration.

For change of address, application for permanent residence shall be submitted to the competent police administration / police station (PU / PP) the place where a citizen reported a new residence. The police administration / police station where a citizen reported a new residence shall check the previous residence.
