Procedure

1. The request for the issue of driving licenses should be submitted to the police department. You could find your nearest police department using the following link : Police Department Location
2. The application form for the issuance of driver's license can be obtained from the clerk at the counter, and the applicant have to sign the form confirming the accuracy of the printed data.
3. If the foreign driver license didn't display the date of issue and the category of the driver license a competent certificate has to be produced which explains the date of first issue and the category to which the foregindriver license belongs.
4. Please make sure you have the documents that are listed under the "Required Documents" section of this page.
5. After payment of appropriate fees and competion of process a Croatian driver license will be provided.

Required Documents

• Foreign driver's license
• Translation of the foreign driver's license, if the foreign driver's license can not be concluded that the category could be replaced and whether it is worth, or whether it has validity more than six months.
• Certificate of medical fitness to drive - not older than six months
• A single photo - size 30x35 mm
• 70 kuna in government stamps
• proof of payment of 151 kuna (regular procedure), or 200 kuna (accelerated procedure) in the form of driving license by means of payment that is raised in the police department or station, slip or via internet banking, the IBAN of the state budget HR1210010051863000160, model HR65, call the number 7005-477-OIB.

Note : It is not necessary to attach a photo if the applicant in the past two years, applied for electronic documents for which the picture is stored in the Information System of the Ministry of the Interior, and the appearance of a person is not significantly changed. In addition to e-driver's licenses, electronic documents are e-passport and e-ID card.

Instructions

• An alien who resides in the Republic of Croatia and the Croatian citizen residing abroad and come to the Republic of Croatia, be based on valid foreign driver's license issued by a competent authority of the state, on condition of reciprocity, operate a motor vehicle on Croatian territory, and in these cases do not require an international driving license.
• An alien can operate motor vehicles on the basis of a valid foreign driver's license for a period of up to one year from the date of entry into the Republic of Croatia. After this deadline, to operate a vehicle on the road foreign driving license must be exchanged for a Croatian license.
