Procedure

1. Fill in and submit an application to obtain a firearm.
2. Pay the administrative fee.
3. Once the permit is issued, the holder must abide with its terms and conditions.

• Completed application form
• If the reason for obtaining the permit is to replenish supply of weapons used for hunting, sports or self-defense purposes, the party referred to must, within 60 days submit a certificate of medical fitness for possession and carrying of weapons and evidence that it has the technical knowledge to use the weapons and knowledge of regulations relating to the possession and carrying of weapons.

Eligibility

• The applicant has a legitimate reason to acquire a firearm;
• Has reached the age of 21
• Has not been convicted for offenses against the Croatian Government, or offenses against values ??protected by international law for crimes against life and limb, offenses against public safety of persons and property, and offenses which contain elements of violence, and contained in crimes against property, against freedom and human and civil rights, sexual freedom and sexual morality, marriage, family and youth, against justice, against public order, against official duty, against the Croatian Armed Forces, against the environment that relating to torture or kill animals, or that it is not for such an offense against her proceedings;
• Has not received punishment for the offense, or that has not been prosecuted for the said offense, which indicates that the weapon could be misused, especially for offenses in the field of domestic violence, and that it is not imposed protective measures for domestic violence;
• There are no other circumstances indicating that the weapon could be misused, especially: frequent and excessive alcohol consumption, consumption of drugs or other intoxicating substances, dysfunctional family relationships, conflicts with the environment, and excessively aggressive behavior and other behavioral disorders, disciplinary infringements on hunting or sport shooting, etc.;
• Can keep and store the weapon in a safe place.

Special conditions in grating approval for the acquisition of weapons:

• Medical examination submitted by the applicant states that he/she is fit to possess and carry weapons.
• That the applicant has the technical knowledge and skills in using the weapons and knowledge of regulations pertaining to the possession and carrying of weapons.

In some cases, acquisition permit may be issued to applicants aged 18 years old and police officers of the Ministry of the Interior. It may also be issued to members of the Croatian Armed Forces and the judicial police aged 18 years old, who are authorized under special regulations to keep and bear arms. Others who may obtain permit at that age are, security guards who are authorized under special regulations to keep and bear arms, members of athletic shooting associations that actively competes in the sports of shooting and hunting people who have passed the exam.

Administrative fee (stamps): 45.00 kuna
