ProcedureEdit

1.The applicant should start by finding out what is required to obtain a National Identification Card. This information can be obtained by visiting the issuing office (L'Office National de l'Etat Civil et de l'Identification (ONECI) or by visiting it website http://www.oneci.ci

2.When the information is obtained, the applicant is advised to prepare all the required documents and make copies of the same;

3.Then the applicant proceeds to the issuing office with the prepared documents. At this stage, the applicant is required to carry both original and duplicate copies of the required documents as the issuing officer may require to look at the original copies when the duplicate copies are submitted;

4.The applicant must also make payment for the National identification card; and

5.Submit documents for application of the card;

6.When documents are received, the applicant is advised on when to go back and pick his / her card when ready.

  • Proof of nationality. These vary basing on how the applicant acquired nationality and are as below

    • Marriage certificate

  • Adopted applicants
    • Birth certificate or proof of nationality of one of the adoptive parents

1.Applications must be submitted in person;

2.Applicants must meet the age and citizenship requirements;

3.Applicants are argued not to submit false documents;

4.Documents that are not in French should be translated certified as true copies;

5.Ensure that all documents submitted are true copies;

6.Always carry both original and duplicate copies of required documents;

7.Citizens by marriage must ensure that their marriage was conducted at least six months back

8.Applicants should be in the country at the time of submitting application; payments should be made to NCCC ex CECP;

9.Applicants born abroad must endeavor to obtain a civil status carded from the ministry of foreign affairs before applying for national identity cards

Need for the DocumentEdit

An Ivorian National Identification card is issued to citizens of Cote dIvoire. The National Identification Office (ONI) together with civil and judicial authorities is the established office with the purpose of enforcing the identification policy which includes issuing the National Identification Card.



Information which might helpEdit

An applicant become a citizen by naturalization for less than five years or by marriage must ensure that he / she in addition to the required documents also possessed an exemplification of the naturalization decree, copy of notice of naturalization that was published in an official paper in the country nationalization certificate and confirmation of existence of naturalization decree from the ministry of justice.



Other uses of the Document/CertificateEdit

1.A national Identification Card proves nationality of the holder;

2.The card briefly introduces the holder;

3.Through the issuing process, the government collects data that is used by different departments in its planning and implementation policies;

4.The collected data is used in population census
