  1. To be able to apply for an Entry Visa (Permit), applicants must fill out an application form. Application to obtain an Entry Visa (Permit) is usually processed along with your application to obtain a work permit (for those who are planning to work in Cook Islands).
  2. Send you application to PO Box 105, Rarotonga, Cook Islands. Address all correspondence to the Director of Immigration, Cook Islands. Please contact Cook Islands' Embassy or Consulate in the country you are currently in to know more about applying for an Entry Visa (Permit) and obtaining a work permit, or other address where you can forward your application.

EligibilityEdit

Individuals who are wishing to live and work in the Cook Islands need to obtain an entry permit with permission to work.

To be eligible to apply for an entry permit with work rights, applicants must be sponsored by a person or organisation in the Cook Islands agreeing to employ them.



FeesEdit

Application for Entry Permit:

  • For Non-Cook Islanders married to Cook Islanders or permanent residents: $10.00
  • Others: $20.00


Issue of an entry or residence permit (including right to work):

  • For Non-Cook Islanders married to Cook Islanders or permanent residents:
    • Per year: $240.00
    • Monthly: $20.00
  • Others:
    • Per year: $480.00
    • Monthly: $40.00

Other Immigration Fees



ValidityEdit

Entry Visa (Permit) and Work Permits are normally issued for one year. Entry and work permits may be extended for up to 2 further one-year periods.

The renewal application must be made no less than 2 weeks before the current Entry Visa (Permit) is due to expire. At the expiry of that final period, the worker must return to his/her country of origin.
