Applying process in Colombia and overseas for citizen and non citizens.

a. Applying process
  1. Applicant in need of Police Clearance Certificate can contact any one of the following service providers, who will provide you with instructions, processing times and applicable fees.

  6. Applicant shall follow as instructed to get the PCC.



Apply by email

  1. To Obtain a Police Clearance Certificate, the applicant has to approach the Federal Police Columbia – link
  2. The applicant has to contact the office through email - [email protected]
  3. The officer will send all the details of the procedure to be done.
  4. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer through the mail.
  5. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
  6. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  7. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
  8. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
  9. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee of $US25.00
  10. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  11. An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
  12. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
  13. Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
  14. The applicant has to visit the office to get the clearance certificate.
  15. This entire process can be completed within 15-20 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

  • Original of Cedula de Ciudadania (citizens only)


Foreign national

  • A copy of your passport while living in Colombia.
  • A copy of your permit of stay in Colombia, passport number and place of issue as well.
  • Proofs of legal stay (copy of passport held during the said period with respective stamp and seal).

  • Valid citizen proof with photo (respective ID’s issued by respective nation).
  • Email ID (useful to communicate issues with respect to your application)
  • A self-addressed envelope with or without stamps (as required).
  • Valid contact number (applicant can be communicated)

EligibilityEdit

  • Applicant with valid passport and a valid address proof.
  • Age: 16 years and above. In case of minors, the application must be submitted by the parent exercising parental authority, if the minor has not turned 16 years.
  • The current address of the applicant must be same as in the passport and other supporting documents.
  • Applicants who are in need of residential status, employment or long term visa or for immigration to a foreign nation.
