Chhattisgarh - Apply for BPL (Below Poverty Line) Ration Card

Apply In-Person:
- The application form for the Below Poverty Line (BPL) Ration Card can be collected from the nearest Food and Supply Office (FSO) Contact Link
- The application form should be filled in carefully and accurately with all the required information. The information to be provided in the application form includes the name of the head of the family, the names of family members, their ages, and their relationship with the head of the family. The details of the residential address and the source of income should also be provided.
- Attach the required documents mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page to the application form.
- The completed application form along with the required documents should be submitted to the nearest Food and Supply Office (FSO).
- After submitting the application form, the authorities will conduct a verification process to confirm the information provided in the application form. The verification process may involve a visit to the applicant’s residence and cross-checking the information with the local authorities. The authorities may also conduct a physical inspection of the applicant’s house and assess the economic status of the family.
- Once the verification process is complete, the BPL Ration Card will be issued to the eligible applicant. The BPL Ration Card will contain details such as the name of the head of the family, the names of family members, the card number, and the validity period of the card.

EligibilityEdit
The following are the points which should be fulfilled by Households to get categorized under the Below Poverty Line (BPL):
- The family’s or Household’s income should not be more than the Rs.15,000/-.
- None of the family members should hold two hectares of the rainfed or semi-irrigated land.
- The family should not possess any type of four wheeler vehicle.
- There should not be a residential telephone in the household.

The validity of the APL Ration Card is for a period of five years.
