Procedure

In Chandigarh, an organization or individual can apply for a Police Clearance Certificate to verify an employee for recruitment.

Apply In-Person

1. To apply for an Employee Verification or Police clearance certificate In-Person, get the specified form from the nearest police station in Chandigarh Chandigarh Police Stations
2. In the procured form, fill the required details of the employee.
3. Provide the required information about the employer.
4. Affix the passport size photograph of the employee in the space given.
5. Attach Photocopy of Photo ID proofs of the employee.
6. Duly sign the form and submit the form at the nearest Police Station.
7. Pay the required processing fee.
8. Receive the acknowledgment receipt and keep it safe for further reference.
9. Follow up to know the status of your report, and visit the Police Station to get the report once it is ready.
   

Note: Make sure you carry the original Id proofs with you for cross verification.

2. If you are a new user, create a new user account by selecting "Create citizen login", fill in your details, and click submit.
3. Log into your account with the credentials.
4. Select "Citizen services" from the options given.
5. Then select "employment verification" from the list of services.
6. Fill in all the required details of the employer in the given window.
7. Fill in the required details of the employee.
8. Upload the scanned copies of the required documents in the specified file size and format (Check required documents section for further details).
9. Check the details filled for any correction before you submit the form. Submitted forms cannot be altered.
10. Pay the required processing fee for which you will receive a transaction receipt.
11. After submission, you will receive your PCC registration number generated by the system.
12. Your application will now be processed and the police will make verifications to create a Report.
13. A digitally signed police clearance certificate will be sent to your registered E-mail Id.

Apply through Centres:

1. To apply through centres, the applicant has to visit the respective “CSC” centre. Please tap on the following link to locate the centre according to the respective district: link.
2. Make sure to have the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
3. It is advised to take the documents in original to the kiosk for scanning purposes.
4. The operator will process the application online.
5. On successful submission, the applicant will receive an application number as acknowledgement.
6. The status, viz. Approval or Rejection if any, will be conveyed to the applicant through an SMS.
7. If verified, the applicant will get the verification report.

Eligibility

Need for the Document

• While hiring a person, it is highly advisable to verify the antecedent of the person with police before employing them.
• This verification also helps you know if any criminal records were registered against the person hired and if he/she has a shady character.
