Apply In-Person

1. To apply for contract carriage auto permit in Chandigarh the applicant has to approach the RTO office to which his area belongs to. Please follow our “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this page to get details of the RTO offices.
   
2. Make sure you have completed application form for contract carriage Auto permit. Application forms can be obtained from the appropriate RTO offices that can be completed and presented with appropriate fees

4. Present the completed application forms in one of the counter and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing your application.

• Application for a Permit in Respect of contract carriage auto ( you can get it from respective RTO)
  
• No objection certificate from the financier if the vehicle concerned is covered by HPA / Lease / Hypothecation.
  
• Registration Certificate of the vehicle.
  
• Fitness Certificate of the vehicle.
  
• Proof of payment of tax for the current quarter.
  
• Insurance Certificate.
  
• Payment of green tax wherever applicable.
  
• Affidavit Sworn by the applicant before an Executive (or) a First Class Judicial Magistrate (or) Notary Public
  
• Passport size photo-2
  
• Pollution under control certificate
  
• Proof of Address (any one of the following to be produced)

Need for the Document

• Contract carriage means any motor vehicle contracted or adapted for use solely for the carriage of Passengers.
  
• Contract Carriage Permit is the most common type of permit granted for transport vehicle for the purpose applied for (Public transport / transport under contract)
  
• Permit for Auto Rickshaw is to grant the holder to operate the vehicle for a specific period on area designated.
  
• The permit also grants the holder to pick passengers in his Auto Rickshaw under the designated area with fares fixed by government on timely basis.

• It is advisable to go to the Regional Transport Officer / State Transport Authority between 9:00am to 5:00pm.
  
• FC (for clearance) is a process meant for reviewing the condition of the vehicle by the RTO authorities
