Apply In-Person
- To apply for a Conductor License in Chandigarh the applicant has to approach the RTO office to which his area belongs to. Please follow our “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this page to get details of the RTO offices.
- Application Form in FORM L.CON.A is required. Application form can be obtained from the following link :Conductor License
- The applicant should make sure they are eligible for applying for Conductor License by reading through the eligibility criteria that has been listed out under the “Eligibility” section of this page.
- Please make sure you have all the documents that are listed down the “Required Document” section of this page.
- Application forms can also be obtained from the appropriate RTO offices that can be completed and presented with appropriate fees.
- Present the completed application forms in one of the counter and pay the appropriate fee where the officials would start processing your application.
- You have to submit a medical certificate of fitness along with a certificate showing competence to undertake first aid work in Form F.A.B.
- Form No. 1 & 1A (Application-cum-Declaration) as to physical fitness & Medical Certificate from Chief Medical Officer in-charge of a referral hospital or Sub Divisional Hospital or Rural Hospital or Civil Hospital or Civil Hospital, as the case may be, in Chandigarh.
- After verifying the medical certificate, if the Licensing authority has reason to believe that the applicant is physically unfit to perform the duties of a conductor, it may call upon him to furnish a third copy of his clear and recent photograph in addition to the photographs already furnished and to produce another medical certificate of fitness from a Medical Officer of the District concerned for this purpose and the photograph so furnished should be firmly affixed with the application duly signed and sealed by the registered medical practitioner.
- If the licensing authority is satisfied with your application and the medical fitness then you will be provided with conductor license
Apply Online
- First one has to make sure that all the required documents are in hand to apply online.
- In order to apply for online, please follow the link : online portal
- Please select "Online Services" from the menu and click on "Driver License Related Services".
- You will be taken to a new screen where you have to select “Chandigarh” in the drop down menu against “Please select the State from where the service is to be taken”.
- In the next window, please click “Apply Online” to select “New conductor license” option to get the next screen with details.
- Go through the details and hit continue to reach the next page.
- Fill up the online application form with prompted details
- Upload the requested documents appropriately.
- Please take printout of Acknowledgement.
- Go to the RTO before 11:30 am to submit your documents.
- You will be directed to a counter to pay fees and submit the document set.
- Once they accept the set of documents, your request will be processed further by the authorities as per how they process as per apply in person procedure

Apply through Centres:
- To apply through centres, the applicant has to visit the respective “CSC” centre. Please tap on the following link to locate the centre according to the respective district: link.
- Make sure to have the documents that are listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- It is advised to take the documents in original to the kiosk for scanning purposes.
- The operator will process the application online.
- On successful submission, the applicant will receive an application number as acknowledgement.
- The status, viz. Approval or Rejection if any, will be conveyed to the applicant through an SMS.
- If verified, the license will be hand delivered or sent through post to the address mentioned while applying in a stipulated period of time.

- Two clear copies of recent photographs of the applicant.
- Medical certificate
- Affidavit of address proof
- Proof of age, appropriate for relevant class of vehicle.
- Ration card, Voter identity card, Life insurance policy, Passport, School certificate, Birth certificate or
- Certificate granted by a registered medical practitioner not below the rank of a Civil Surgeon(as applicable) or
- Self-swearing Affidavit by an applicant before an executive Magistrate or a First Class Judicial Magistrate or a Notary Public as evidence of age
- Ration card, Voter identity card, Life insurance policy, Passport, School certificate, Birth certificate or
- Proof of residence
- Ration Card, Voter identity card, Aadhar Identity Card, Pay slip issued by any office of the central government or a state government; Electricity bill, Telephone bill, House tax receipt showing the name of the name of the applicant
- If the applicant is not able to produce any of the above documents for a sufficient reason the licensing authority may accept any affidavit sworn by the applicant before an Executive Magistrate, or a First Class Judicial Magistrate or a Notary Public as evidence of residence
- Aadhaar Card
- A cash receipt or a treasury challan in token of payment of fee.

- Candidate must possess knowledge of the provisions of the Act and the rules made thereunder
- Candidate must be conversant with the duties and functions of a conductor

Need for the DocumentEdit
- No person shall act as a conductor of a stage carriage unless he holds an effective conductor’s licence issued to him authorising him to act as such conductor.
- No person shall employ or permit any person who is not so licensed to act as a conductor of a stage carriage.
