Chad - Apply for a Citizenship
ProcedureEdit
1.Go to the Ministry of Justice and find out what is required in order to obtain Chad citizenship.
- The same information can be obtained from any Chad embassy / consulate office in another country. The list of these embassies / consulate office can be obtained from http://www.embassypages.com/Chad or http://embassy.goabroad.com/embassies-of/chad.
2.Organize all required documents and submit application to the Ministry of Justice;
3.The officials at the ministry shall look through the lodged application, carry out investigation and later make a decision. The application may either be approved or rejected;
4.The applicant is then notified about the decision. If application is approved, application is published to allow anyone with any objections forward claim;
5.When the publication period elapses and no one has submitted any objection, the applicant is required to make oath in court; and
6.After making oath, it is signed and thereof pronounced as citizen of Chad.

- Applicants must born to Chad citizens;
- Born in Chad to unknown parents;
- Born in chard to non Chad citizens must apply for citizens at eighteen (18) years and above;
NaturalizationEdit
- A foreigner aged eighteen (18) years and above and has lived in Chad continuously for at least fifteen (15) years. .

ValidityEdit
Citizenship has no validity period but can be voluntarily renounced or may also be revoked by order of the president on the grounds of having engaged in activities contrary to the national interest.

1.Applications must be submitted when in the country;
2.Being born in Chad does not automatically mean citizenship;
3.A person born in Chad to non-Chadian citizens must meet the age requirement before applying;
4.To obtain citizenship by birth a person must be born to one or both Chadian citizen parents;
5.A child born in Chad to unknown parents may automatically be considered a citizen of Chad;
6.To obtain citizenship by naturalization, an applicant must meet the age and residence requirements;
7.Applicant must be well integrated into the Chadian community;
8.Applicant must be of good character;
9.Applicant must be of good health;
10.Child born in Chad can be a citizen if he / she does not acquire any other citizenship;
11.Beware of all the countrys laws, rules and regulations and be ready to comply with them;
12.Applicants need not to renounce previous nationalities when applying for Burkina Faso citizenship;.
13.The Chad law does not address dual citizenship;
14.A granted citizenship may be revoked if need arises;
15.If citizenship is revoked and the holder is not contented, he / she file case in court.

Need for the DocumentEdit
Citizenship is an act of being a national of a given country. Citizenship can be acquired either by birth, descent, marriage, adoption or by naturalization; however Chad citizenship is only acquired either by birth or naturalization. Issues of citizenship in Chad are handled by the Ministry of Justice.
