Apply In-Person:

  1. To Obtain a Business Certificate of Incorporation, the applicant has to approach the Canada Revenue Agency link
  2. Before registering the business, the applicant needs to choose a name for it. The name must be unique, and the applicant can check if it's available using the Canadian trademark database.
  3. There are several business structures in Canada, including sole proprietorship, partnership, corporation, and cooperative. The applicant needs to choose the one that's best for his/her business.
  4. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
  5. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
  6. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  7. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
  8. Submit all the essential documents along with the completed application form to the concerned officer.
  9. The fee details for this procedure are mentioned in the “Fees” section of this page.
  10. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  11. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
  12. Then the application will be processed further.
  13. Once the verification process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
  14. For further process, the applicant has to follow the instruction given by the officer.
  15. This entire process can be completed within 4 – 5 weeks or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
