Apply In Person:

  1. To Apply for Real Estate License, the applicant has to approach the Canadian Real Estate Association link
  2. Complete the required real estate education courses or programs approved by the regulatory body.
  3. The educational requirements can vary, but they generally involve completing specific pre-licensing courses that cover topics such as real estate law, ethics, property valuation, and contracts. Ensure that the applicant chooses an educational program recognized by the regulatory body.
  4. In many provinces, the applicant will need to secure sponsorship from a licensed real estate brokerage or agent. This sponsorship is typically required before the applicant can apply for a real estate license. Establish connections within the industry and seek sponsorship from a reputable brokerage.
  5. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
  6. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
  7. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  8. The applicant has to attach photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting it.
  9. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
  10. In most provinces, the applicant will be required to pass a licensing examination administered by the regulatory body. The exam typically assesses the applicant’s knowledge of real estate practices, laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
  11. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
  12. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  13. Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
  14. After passing the licensing examination, the applicant may need to complete additional training or courses, such as a post-licensing course or continuing education, depending on the requirements of the applicant’s regulatory body.
  15. This entire process can be completed within 15 – 20 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
