Apply In Person

  1. To Apply for Podiatrist License, the applicant has to approach the respective College of Podiatric.
  2. Ensure that the applicant has completed an accredited podiatric medicine program. In Canada, the Michener Institute for Applied Health Sciences in Toronto offers a Bachelor of Applied Health Sciences (Podiatric Medicine) program.
  3. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
  4. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
  5. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  6. The applicant has to attach photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting it.
  7. Depending on the province or territory,the applicant may be required to pass a licensing examination to demonstrate his/her competency as a podiatrist. Check with the regulatory body to determine the specific examination requirements and process.
  8. The applicant may need to undergo a criminal record check to ensure he/she has no disqualifying convictions. The regulatory body will provide instructions on how to complete this process.
  9. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
  10. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
  11. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  12. Then the application will be processed further.
  13. Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
  14. Once the application is approved, the applicant will receive his/her podiatrist license. This will allow the applicant to practice legally within the province or territory where he/she obtained the license.
  15. This entire process can be completed within 15 – 30 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
