Apply by Mail

1. To Apply for Mental Health Counsellor License, the applicant has to approach the Ministry of Health – link
2. Prepare a detailed business plan that outlines the center's mission, goals, services provided, target population, staffing requirements, treatment modalities, policies and procedures, and financial projections.
3. This plan will serve as a foundation for the license application and can demonstrate the viability and quality of the center.
4. Before stepping into the process, the applicant can also contact the health department through a phone call for information about applying.
5. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
6. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
7. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
8. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
9. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned office mailing address.

11. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
12. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
13. Then the application will be processed further.
14. Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
15. If your application is approved, you will be granted a mental health counselor license, allowing you to practice legally in that province or territory.
16. This entire process can be completed within 15 – 20 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
