Procedure

Following are the list of tasks that are to be done to obtain a Construction Permit or License.

1. Obtain recent proof of land ownership - This can be obtained from the city/town hall of the municipality where the land belongs.
2. Obtain a fire clearance certificate from the Fire Department - This certificate can be obtained from the fire department.
3. Obtain a certificate of urban planning (certificat d'urbanisme) - This can be obtained from the city/town hall of the municipality where the land belongs.
4. Obtain the approval of the overall plan and the site plan by the Cadastre
5. Obtain geo-technical assessment
6. Obtain building permit - To obtain a building permit, hire an authorized supervision agency, who should help you out with getting an inspection to the land by Douala Urban Council, after which you will be provided with a building permit.
7. Apply for the certificate of conformity - This can be obtained from the city/town hall of the municipality where the land belongs. There will be an inspection that will take place, after which the certificate of conformity will be provided.
8. Request water connection - An inspection of the property by the officials will take place, after which a estimate of cost will be provided. On payment of the estimated cost water connection will be provided.
