Apply In-Person:

  1. To apply for Residential Rehabilitation Assistance Program in person, the applicant has to visit any nearest Housing Solutions Specialist.

  3. First, the applicant has to contact the nearest Housing Solutions Specialist with the help of the contact link, given above.
  4. The Housing Specialist will inform the applicant about the things to be done to apply for the program.
  5. The applicant may have to complete an application form which may be provided by the Specialist.
  6. The applicant has to complete the form as instructed by the Specialist and with the required details.
  7. After that, the applicant should attach the documents listed in the “Required Documents” section of this page, with the completed form.
  8. Then, the application package should be submitted as instructed by the Housing Solutions Specialist.
  9. The Specialist will inform the applicant if they need to pay anything to apply for the program. If yes, the applicant should pay that by following their instructions.
  10. Upon receipt of the application package and appropriate fees, the Office will start assessing the application and attached documents.
  11. On completion of the assessment and verification, the office will provide the respective financial support within the stipulated time.

  • The person should be either a First Nations or individual First Nation member.
  • The applicant’s total household income must be at or below the established limit which is based on the location of the community.

  • Residential Rehabilitation Assistance Program provides financial support for homes that lack basic facilities or need major repairs to keep the occupants safe.

  • Structural, electrical, plumbing, heating and fire safety work are just some of the areas covered by this program. Support may also be available to address problems of overcrowding.
  • The program will provide up to $60,000 for each unit that needs major home repairs. If the property is located on-reserve in northern or remote areas, the maximum amount may be increased by 25%.
  • This is a forgivable loan, meaning it doesn’t have to be repaid if the beneficiary meets all the terms and conditions.
