- To Apply for Power Engineer Licence, the applicant has to approach Service Canada link
NOTE: Enter the address and the range of Km and click the “Find” button to check the nearest office.
- Power Engineer licenses require a combination of education and work experience.
- Typically, the applicant will need to complete a recognized power engineering program from a technical college or institution.
- The length of the program will depend on the desired license level. Additionally, the applicant will need to gain practical work experience in the field, usually through an apprenticeship or on-the-job training.
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
- After receiving the document set, the concerned authority will check the submitted letter and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
- The applicant may be required to pass written and practical examinations to demonstrate knowledge and competency in power engineering.
- The exams typically cover topics such as thermodynamics, safety codes, equipment operation, and troubleshooting.
- If the application is approved, the applicant will be issued a Power Engineer License. The license will specify your license level and any additional endorsements or restrictions based on your qualifications.
- This entire process can be completed within 2 – 3 weeks or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
