Apply In-Person
- To apply for Excise Warehouse License in person, the applicant has to visit the nearest Regional Excise Duty office.

- Visit the office and obtain an application form for Excise Warehouse Licence from the relevant department. Or click here to download: L63 Licence and Registration Application
- The applicant can fill the application form online as well as offline. Make sure that all the documents in the “Required Documents” section of this page are available.
- Complete the application as per convenience, attest it with signature and attach the required documents with the application form.
- Then, submit the application package to the relevant authority at the office. The applicant need not pay anything for the license.
- Upon receipt of the application and all the required information, the Department will proceed to review and assess the submitted information.
- On completion of the review, the office will inform the applicant through phone number or email to collect the Registration Certificate.

EligibilityEdit
- The applicant must be at least 18 years old and he/she must be financially sufficient to conduct the business in a responsible manner.
- In case of corporation or partnership or unincorporated body, each member must be at least 18 years old.
FeesEdit
- The application process is free and the applicant need not pay anything for the license.
ValidityEdit
- The license is valid for a maximum period two years.

- The legal name (if applicable) is the name of the business that appears on all official documents or legal papers. The trading name is the name that the business client trades under or the name by which suppliers or customers know the business.
- If the business is a partnership, they must provide a partnership agreement. If it is a corporation, they must provide us with a copy of the certificate of incorporation or amalgamation.
- The Excise and Duty office will not process this form unless it is signed and dated by an authorized person of the business.
- Signing this application certifies that the information given on this form and any document attached is to best of the applicant’s knowledge, correct and complete.
- To consent to the release of confidential information to a representative who is not an employee of the business, they should complete and return the form RC59, Business Consent Form. Reference Consent form
- The applicants are advised to properly read and follow the instructions present in the application form.

Need for the DocumentEdit
- An excise warehouse licence allows its holder to possess and store, within one or more specified premises, packaged alcohol or unstamped manufactured tobacco or cigars on which excise duty has not been paid. The excise duty is not payable while the product is in the excise warehouse.
Information which might helpEdit
- A person who wishes to renew their licence must submit, at least 30 days before the expiry date, a completed application form L63, Licence and Registration Application Excise Act, 2001, to any CCRA tax services office.
- A licence will be renewed if the person submits an application for renewal within the specified time and, in the opinion of the CCRA, no grounds exist to cancel or suspend the licence.
