- To Apply for contribute National Institute of Social Security(Cartão do INSS), the applicant has to approach the Cartório De Registro Civil – link or link
- The applicant has to schedule the appointment by contact the office.
- An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
- The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
- Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
- The applicant has to attach photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting it.
- On the scheduled date and time, go to the INSS office for the applicant’s appointment.
- During the appointment, the applicant will need to provide information about his/her work history, including past employers and periods of employment.
- Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
- Also, the applicant has to complete the biometric process.
- The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
- After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
- Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
- The INSS will use the information provided to verify the applicant’s contributions and establish his/her CNIS.
- Once the applicant’s CNIS is processed and created, he/she will receive a document or card that serves as proof of his/her social security contributions and benefits entitlement.
- This entire process can be completed within 15 - 20 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
