  1. To Apply for Brazilian Passport Abroad, the applicant has to approach the Ministério das Relações Exteriores link
  2. The applicant has to get an appointment from the office.
  3. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer. or it can be downloaded from the following link link
  4. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
  5. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
  6. The applicant has to attach the photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting.
  7. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned office mailing address.
  8. The mailing address is mentioned in the “Office Locations & Contacts” section of this page.
  9. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
  10. Then the application will be processed further. All the updates on the application status will be sent via SMS to the applicant’s mobile number.
  11. On the scheduled date, go to the consulate or embassy for your appointment.
  12. As part of the application process, your biometric data, including fingerprints, may be collected. This is a security measure to prevent identity theft and fraud.
  13. The fee for this procedure is mentioned in the “Fees” section of this page.
  14. An acknowledgment receipt will be provided. Please save it for future reference.
  15. Once the process is completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
  16. Return to the consulate or embassy on the specified date to collect your passport. Make sure to bring the receipt of payment and any other documents that may be required for passport collection.
  17. Before leaving the consulate or embassy, carefully check the details in your passport, including your name, photo, and passport number, to ensure they are accurate.
  18. This entire process can be completed within 30 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.

To be eligible to apply for a Brazilian passport abroad, you must meet the following criteria:

  • The applicant must be a Brazilian citizen.
  • The applicant must be at least 18 years old.
  • The applicant must have a valid passport or other valid travel document.
