1. To Apply for Barbers License, the applicant has to approach the Brazilian National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA) link
2. The applicant must first complete a barbering program at a licensed school or institution. The program must cover all the required topics and meet the standards set by the Brazilian National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA).
3. Once the applicant has completed the barbering program, the applicant will need to obtain a certificate of completion. This certificate must be issued by the institution where you completed the program and must be recognized by ANVISA.
4. An application form will be provided to the applicant by the concerned officer.
5. The applicant has to fill in all the necessary details in the application form. (Incomplete applications are not accepted)
6. Make sure that the applicant has attached all the necessary documents that are mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page.
7. The applicant has to attach photocopies of the required documents along with the application form while submitting it.
8. Submit all the documents with the completed form to the concerned officer.
9. ANVISA requires all applicants for a Barber's License to pass an exam that covers all the required topics. The exam is usually held at a designated testing center, and the applicant will need to register and pay a fee to take the exam.
10. The applicant has to pay the prescribed fee as requested by the authority.
11. After receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all are in place, the application will be accepted.
12. Once the process gets completed, the applicant gets a call from the office regarding the application.
13. If the applicant pass the ANVISA exam and meet all other requirements, the applicant will receive the applicant’s Barber's License from ANVISA. This license will allow the applicant to work as a licensed barber in Brazil.
14. This entire process can be completed within 15 - 20 days or as per the timeline advised by the respective department authority.
