How to Apply
Apply In-Person
- Applicant should visit Ministry of Youth Empowerment, Sport and Culture Development {MYSC} Headquarter or the nearest MYSC District Office for the application process for the Youth Development Fund, {see MYSC address details below}.
- Collect the National Service and Internship Application Form, from the MYSC service desk or use this link to download Link
- Submit the completed form, along with relevant supporting documents {as listed below} to MYSC attending officer, who shall then verify that all the necessary information and documents have been provided and that the applications comply with the selection criteria, before they are submitted to Department of National Service and Internship {DNSI} for assessment and processing.
- Upon receipt of the application file, applicant will then be issued with an acknowledgement letter with a reference number by the MYSC agent for future enquiries that may require clarification by the youth department during the processing period. If summoned by the department, applicants will be required to avail themselves for an interview.
- Approved applicant, will be registered as beneficiary of the National Internship programme and notified of the outcome by phone or Mail, upon placement for a job opportunity for the enrolment of the participant by interested organisation {government department, Parastatal, Community Based Organisations {CBOs}, private, NGO} through a Request Form is secured by the Department of National Service and Internship.
Note
- Placement of youth to any organization will take into consideration the Applicant’s qualifications.
- Graduate Volunteers will be given priority for placement in the Internship Programme provided they are enlisted in the Internship waiting list.
- Graduate participants are eligible for monthly allowance by submitting a Confirmation Form, which is to be completed signed by the Participant/Intern/Volunteer and Supervisor every month as per set deadlines to confirm Participants for payment of their monthly allowance. {See form under documents to use section below}

Important Notes
- A beneficiary can exit the National internship programme at any time should a volunteer/participant get an Internship, receive an offer of permanent employment or self-employment or for whatever reasons that should be communicated in the Participant/Intern/Volunteer Exit Form. ,{ refer to Document to Use section above to view/download Exist Form}
- Once the Participant has been exited from the programme s/he cannot be accepted back. The Exit Report should be accompanied by a Cover letter from the Host Organization.
- The Work Plan should be signed and submitted within one week of resuming duty. It is a Performance Agreement between the participants and the Host organization. A participant’s performance is to be reviewed every six months to give them feedback.
- The Performance Appraisal Form should be submitted to the Department every six months.
- Graduate participants can opt for reinstatement by filling a Reinstatement Form {refer to Document to Use section above to view/download Reinstatement Form}
- Graduate participants can transfer once after three (3) months by filling a Transfer Form,{ refer to Document to Use section above to view/download Transfer Form}
- The Return Slip which should be completed and returned to the Department of National Service and Internship within two days of resuming duty. The Slip confirms that the participant has resumed duty.
- The Work Plan should be signed and submitted within one week of resuming duty. It is a Performance Agreement between the participants and the Host organization. A participant’s performance is to be reviewed every six months to give them feedback.
