Botswana - Apply for Exemption Certificate for Holders with Permanent Residence

Apply In-Person
- One should contact and visit the Department of Immigration and Citizenship near you for consultation on how to file the application with the department.
- Accurately fill in the application forms, which can be obtain from the above offices
- Two copies of Form 4, Form II/Form 8, Form 13 and Form 14 for directors
- Form 3A, Form 15, and Form 21 for all applicants
- Two copies of Form 4 for employees
- Attach all the required documents to the form and submit them for verification and processing.
- Pay the application fee.
- If the authorized officer is satisfied that you have complied with the all conditions as set for the application of the certificate you will be issued with the certificate.
- You should check the outcome of your application from the Office which the application was made after 6 Months.

- Covering letter from the applicant
- Two copies of certified passport
- Two recent passport size photos
- If married, include one copy of certified marriage certificate
Immigrants/dependents/missionaries
- Letter of support from sponsor, spouse, supporter, or mission
- Proof of means of support in Botswana
- Most recent month’s bank statement
Employees
- Curriculum Vitae
- One copy of certified educational certificates
- Reference/confirmation of employment by the employer
Investors
- Wages sheet of employees
- Duration of employment and certified copies of identity cards for employees who are citizens of Botswana
- Submit certified copies of the following
- Valuation of shares
- Share certificate
- Certificate of incorporation
- List of directors (form 2)
- Current year’s financial statements
- Title deed/lease agreement
- Trading license
- Tax return
