Botswana - Apply for Environmental Filming and Photograph Permit

Apply In-Person
- You should contact Ministry of Environment, Wildlife and Tourism, for more information on how to file the application.
- Application forms can be obtained for the above offices or download it by click the link below Application Form
- Accurately fill in the form, sign it and attach copies of the requirements and submit via mail or in person addressed to The Permanent at the Ministry of Environment, Wildlife and Tourism, Private Bag B0199, Gaborone. Botswana (as hardcopy) or via email to [email protected] (as soft copy)
- If the Ministry of environment and tourism is satisfied that you have complied with the all conditions as set for the application of the permit he or she will then issue you with Permit by mail.
- You will then be required to pay certain fees upon receiving the permit. (Please consult with the ministry on how to make payment)

- Citizens: certified copy of National Identity Card (Omang).
- Non-Citizens: A valid passport.
- A fully detailed proposal

All fees below are payable after the permit is issued:
Film permit fees:
- Non-Citizens - BWP10,000.00
- Residents - BWP5,000.00
- Citizens - BWP1,000.00
Photography permit fees:
- Non-Citizens - BWP1,000.00
- Residents - Free
- Citizens - Free
These additional fees which are not included in the permit fee may apply:
- Park fees
- Camping fees
- Vehicle Fees
- Aircraft and boats (available for rent through "National Parks and Reserves")

Applicants from foreign countries are advised not to leave for Botswana before obtaining a filming permit from the Ministry of Environment, Wildlife and Tourism.
