Apply In-Person

  1. The application for Environmental Education Program-Educational Parks shall be made to the Department of Wildlife and National Parks (DWNP), which is under the Ministry of Environment, Natural Resources Conservation and Tourism office. Ministry contact details
  2. Applicants are required to collect and complete the environmental education program application form. Copies of these forms are available for free at any of the DWNP offices and are not available online.
  3. The application form duly completed in all respect, and the supporting documentation as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section of this page, should be submitted to the nearest DWNP office.
  4. Upon receipt of the file, the receiving officer will then verify that all the necessary documentation and information have been provided and that the applications comply with the selection criteria before registering the application file for processing and consideration, which is between five (5)- fifteen (15) working days.
  5. The applicant will be issued with an acknowledgment slip as proof of submission of the application.
  6. Applicants will be registered with the program and notified by the wildlife officer about details of the program either by phone or in person. (Refer to ‘Instruction’ section below for more details about the program)

InstructionsEdit

The Maun Game Park currently holds Environmental Education Program (E.E.P) activities on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday of every week. The activities start with an introduction to the Park at 1:00 pm and the activities finish at 5:00- 6:00 pm, depending on the individual characteristics of the student group. Each activity tends to last 30 minutes and the overall presentation lasts for about 1 hour 30 minutes. Short breaks are taken in between each activity, and at the end of the presentations, a 20-minute food and drink break is taken. Many of the activities/lessons stress popular conservation messages such as:

  • sustainable use of our natural resources
  • prevention of pollution (water/air/soil)
  • learning to appreciate the environment’s natural beauty (especially the delta)
  • being aware of what you can do as an individual to improve the environment
