Procedure

Apply In Person

1. The application for Certificate of Good Standing shall be made to the Botswana Health Professions Council (BHPC) office, which is under the Ministry of Health and Awareness (MoH), Six (6) months after initial registration as a Health Profession. MoH Contact & Map Location Details
2. Applicants are required to collect and complete the Application form for Certificate of Good Standing, obtainable at the BHPC registry office or download it via the MoH website, Regulatory Service or directly download it using this link,Application form for Certificate of Good Standing
3. Submit the duly completed application form attached to the relevant supporting documents as mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page to the BHPC registry office.
4. Upon receipt of the application file, the registrar will verify if all the necessary information and documentation has been provided and that the applications comply with the selection criteria before registering the application file for assessment and consideration by the Botswana Health Professions Council committee board.
5. Applicants are required to make payment of the renewal fee and obtain a BHPC payment receipt and acknowledgment slip, which shall serve as proof of submission of the application and for inquiry referencing if the need arises.
6. Upon receipt of the application file, the board shall not approve the issue of a practicing certificate if-
   • The applicant is insolvent.
   • The declaration contains a statement that to its knowledge is false in a material particular. or
   • The Board is not satisfied that the applicant has complied with the requirements relating to continuing professional development determined by the Board. etc.
7. The Board shall approve the issue of the Good Standing Certificate, where the applicant meets the eligibility requirements and demonstrates the required standards of a Health profession.
8. Applicants are notified in writing about Board resolutions, regarding their applications.
9. If approved, the registrar will draw up the certificate as directed by the board and sent it to the Regulatory Authority to Which You Wish the Certificate to be sent.

Eligibility

• All health professionals registered with the BHPC for not less than 6 months and wishing to have a certificate of good standing are eligible to apply.
  
  

Fees

• Certificate of Good Standing fee is P250.00
  
  

Validity

• The Certificate shall be valid for 6 months from the date of issue unless the Health Professionals Registration Certificate is suspended, canceled, or revoked by the BHPC.
