Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. One should visit the Department of Mines offices in Gaborone or Francis town for consultation on how to file for the application with the following documents.
   • A written request accompanied by duplicate copies of the following plans and sections of the proposed storage (storage building/silo).
   • Location plan (the plan should show that the location of the magazine/silo complies with the requirements of safety distances)
   • Layout plan
   • Specification plan and section/s.
   • Any other document that may be specified by the authorized officer
2. Submit all the required documents for verification and processing to the attending staff.
3. If the authorized officer is satisfied that you have complied with the all conditions as set for the application of the permit, he or she will issue you with the permit.
