1. For one to apply for a Annual Dentist Public and Private Practice License, one needs to be registered as a Dentist with the Botswana Health Professions Council, which is under the Ministry of Health and awareness (MoH) office. 2. The application shall be made in writing, using a prescribed form as determined by the Botswana Health Professions Council, copies of the application forms are obtainable at the Botswana Health Professions Council office.
3. Submit the supporting documentation as mentioned under the “Required Documents” section of this page, in addition to the duly completed application form in all respect to the Botswana Health Professions Council, registrar’s office. Any omission of these documents will render the application process incomplete.
4. Upon submission, the application is checked for completeness and correctness by the registrar, if everything is in order the application is registered for processing and consideration.
5. Pay the applicable fees as per the council's preferable mode of payment, and present the proof of payment to be verified by the registrar, the applicant will be issued with a payment receipt and an acknowledgment slip as proof of submission of the application and for inquiry referencing if the need arises.
6. After processing which is within 7 working days, the registrar, shall upon satisfied that the applicant is registered as a Dentist, with the Botswana Health Professions Council, issue to the applicant, the Practicing license subject to such conditions as it may deem fit.
7. While collecting the license the applicant will be required to produce proof of identity, payment slip and the acknowledgement slip to be validated by the registrar at the Botswana Health Professions office.
8. A practicing certificate/license issued shall specify the address of the principal place of practice and all other places of the practice of the professional Dentist to whom the practicing certificate is issued.

1. Upon being registered as a dentist with the Ministry of Health and Awareness (MoH), the dental practitinior will also need to apply for the private practice license at the MoH .
2. such application shall be made in writing using a prescribed form obtainable for free at the MoH offices.
3. Upon obtaining the application form, the applicant should legibly complete the form, attach all the supporting documentation as listed under the “Required Documents” section of this page and submit the complete application file to the MoH registrar office for consideration. Any omission of the required documents or information will render the application process incomplete.

Eligibility

• Registered dentist with a valid registration certificate from the Botswana Health Professions Council for public sector or Ministry of Health for private sector are eligible to apply.

Fees

• Please consult with the Botswana Health Professions Council if working/employed in the public sector or Ministry of Health for private sector.

Validity

• The validity of the Practicing Certificate/license shall be for a period not exceeding one (01) year from the date of issue unless suspended, revoked, or canceled by the Authority.
• The practicing certificate should be renewed thirty (30) days before the expiration of the current certificate.
