Procedure

Instructions

The applicant must provide evidence, to the satisfaction of CAAB, that the aircraft product type meets the applicable airworthiness design standards applicable at the date of type certification.

An application for the grant of a TAC shall be made to CAAB in writing, with payment of any appropriate fee, providing full details of the applicant, and full details of the aircraft and Type Certificate (TC) for which acceptance is sought.

Need for the Document

The Type Acceptance Certificate (TAC) granted by the Civil Aviation Authority of Botswana (CAAB) in respect to an aircraft type design is a prerequisite for the issuance of the Aircraft Certificate of Airworthiness to a registered aircraft in Botswana.
