Apply In-Person:
- In order to start a school, one has to register a trust or a society or a section 8 company. Please follow the below links for respective registration procedures.
Apply In person for affiliation
- Once the above step is complete, the applicant should approach the office of their respective district department of education (DoE) to get the “Essentiality Certificate (EC)”.
- Link for contact information of the district’s department of education (DoE) office: link in the given page, please use the “Phone Directory” button at the bottom for a new page. Here, please select “District Education Officer” option from the dropdown list under “Designation” for contact details.
- Please go to the office and meet the authorities to know the applying process and get the “Essentiality Certificate (EC)”. In the same office, please collect the application form to apply for this procedure.
- Once the “Essentiality Certificate (EC)” is in hand, please get the building certificate/licence (the requirement may be for a new building or for an existing building).
- To obtain the building certificate / licence, the applicant shall approach their respective local administration office and apply with the planning department for construction of a new building or apply with the engineering department for the existing building for respective certificate/licence and then get the construction / building approval from the concerned tahsildar or the designated authority.

- Please hire the required staffs and make proper “Employee’s Provident Fund - EPF” and “Employee’s State Insurance Corporation - ESIC” registration.
- Once the above steps are completed, the process of applying for affiliation must be initiated according to the bye-laws of the board to which the application is to be made.
- Now complete the application form. Attach all the required documents as per our “Required Documents” section (under “Set of documents for affiliation”) of this page. Make an additional duplicate set of your application for future referral at the time of inspection or in case of any cross verification requirements.
- Please go to the office of the respective district department of education (DoE) and submit the application set to the designated authority and follow the authorities guidelines. The concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set.
- If all the documents are in place, this application shall be sent by post to the designated office (usually the office of the director of school education) as per the local district department of education (DoE) authorities advice.
- Please keep the postal department’s challan as proof for submitting this application. An acknowledgement for the delivery of your application set will be delivered to your address. Please keep it safe for future reference.
- This application will be processed further.
- ”SMS” triggered update on application status will be sent to the applicant’s mobile.
- Applicant gets notification from the department about the inspection.
- On a scheduled date, the inspection will be carried out by an inspection committee of the respective board.
- On successful completion of the inspection and other process, the inspection team will forward their recommendations to the board.
- Based on the recommendation and other relevant process, the board will sanction provisional affiliation. This will be communicated through a letter via post or as per the norms.
- Once the letter is received, please visit the office as per the letter notification and follow their guidelines. The school shall make necessary deposits and payments as guided to get the approval.
- The certificate will be hand delivered or sent through post to the address mentioned while applying or issued as per applicable norms.
- In case any deficiency is found in the school, time is granted to remedy that. In case the affiliation is not granted, a reapplication has to be made after a year or more, depending on the board.
Apply In person for recognition
- Having permission to open the School / Provisional affiliation, the school shall apply for recognition.
- Please go to the office of the respective district department of education (DoE).

- On reaching the office, please consult with the designated authority to know the application procedure. Please collect the application form or write on a plain A4 sheet as advised.

- As advised, please pay the pledge money as appropriate and obtain the financial statement from the chartered accountant. Please pay the processing fee as per the acceptable norms (DD).
- Complete the application form. Attach all the required documents as per our “Required Documents” section (under “Set of documents for recognition”) of this page and submit it to the designated receiving authority.
- The concerned authority will check the submitted application and document set. If all the documents are in place, this application shall be sent by post to the designated office as per the local district department of education (DoE) authorities advice.

- Please use the following link to apply online for registration of school link
- In the home page, please use the “New Registration R.T.E” option under “Right to Education Online Services” to reach “Registration” page.
- Here, please complete the page prompts as appropriate. Please enter the captcha at the space as appropriate and click the “Register” button. An “OTP” will be sent to the applicant’s mobile. Please enter the received “OTP” at the prompted space as appropriate and use the respective button to register.
- Once registered, please come back to the home page and use the “RTE Login” button on top right corner to reach the “Login” page.
- Here, please enter the login credentials as appropriate. Enter the captcha at the prompted space and click “Login” button to login.
- The applicant will reach the online application page. Here, the details of the applicant as per login will be displayed.
- Please complete the page prompts as appropriate for all the sections. Upload the required documents as applicable using the respective upload prompts.
- Once the online application prompts are complete, please hit the “Submit” button at the bottom.
- The preview of the online submitted application form will be displayed. Please go through the details and hit the “Print” button to take the printout of your application.
- Once the application is printed, attach all the required documents as per our “Required Documents” section (under “Set of documents for affiliation”) of this page. Make an additional duplicate set of your application for future referral at the time of inspection or in case of any cross verification requirements.

- If land is in more than one patch, then a report is required to be countersigned by the tahsildar.
- Pledge money as per school type and student's strength (in the form of fixed deposit or bank guarantee not less than a period of 3-years)
- Construction plan of building (in original blueprint)
- Building safety certificate
- Certificate of fire safety
- Certificate of hygienic
- PAN card as per requirement

EligibilityEdit
- A registered trust or society or a section 8 company is eligible to apply for this procedure.
- The land requirement as stated below is mandatory to apply for this procedure.
- In case of village – 3 acres of land.
- In case of town panchayat – 1 acre of land.
- In case of municipal – 55 cents of land.
- In case of corporation, 33 cents of land.
FeesEdit
- The applicant has to pay the application fee of Rs.1000 or the amount as per the type of school and as per the state norms.
- Inspection fee of Rs.2500 or the amount as per the type of school and as per the state norms.
- The processing fee by means of demand draft in favour of director school education of the respective state need to be paid as stated below.
- Rs. 1,000 for the primary school.
- Rs. 2,500 for the middle school.
- Rs. 5,000 for the high school and
- Rs.10,000 for the senior secondary school.
- The applicant has to make fixed deposit or bank guarantee not less than a period of 3 years for the below-mentioned amount.
- Rs. 50,000 or the advised amount for the primary school.
- Rs. 1,00,000 for the middle school.
- Rs. 1,50,000 for the high school and
- Rs. 2,00,000/- for the senior secondary school in favour of director, school education or as per the mentioned authority.
NOTE:
- Based on the student strength, the fee requirement may vary.
- Applicant shall get the fee detail from the department of education (DEO) office.
ValidityEdit
- The approval granted shall be valid for three years or as per the period granted by the respective state.

Need for the DocumentEdit
- No school is permitted to run classes without registration.
- The schools, while applying for the registration, have to provide all the relevant documents and other financial requirements. By following these procedures, the applicant fulfils the conditions and requirements. That in turn is required for the safety of the students as well as the standard of education.
- Any school that violates these conditions would be disqualified for a period of two years or the period as per the respective state norms.
