Procedure

Apply In-Person:

1. Respective tourism department will publish advertisements for seeking expression of interest from the farm house owners to register for Farm Tourism Scheme. The eligible farm owners shall also apply for registration of Farm Tourism Scheme as appropriate.
2. Contact Link in the given page, please scroll down to "Departments" section and click the "Tourism" option under "Art Culture & Tourism" to reach the respective page. Here, please scroll down to find the "Phone Directory" option. Please click on the "Phone Directory" option for respective contact page. Also, please click on the menu icon and then click on the "Contact Us" option for "Contact Us" page with contact details.
3. The applicants shall follow the instructions provided in the advertisement and they can get the clarity from the contact number provided in the advertisement. Also, the contact details provided in the above link will be helpful to get clarification.
4. The applicant shall call up the contact numbers to know the appropriate office to apply in person.
5. If the application is accepted in person, then please visit the respective office and obtain the application form to apply, or write on a plain A4 sheet as advised or follow the authority’s guidelines.
6. Please complete the application form. Attach the required documents as per the “Required Documents” section of this page along with the applicable fee as per acceptable norms. Please enclose a checklist of available facility and submit it to the designated receiving authority in person.
7. On receiving the application, the concerned authority will check the application details and documents.
8. If all are in place, the application will be accepted and an acknowledgement slip with a serial number will be issued. Please keep it safe for future reference.
9. ”SMS” triggered update on application status will be sent to the applicant’s mobile number. Please keep track of the notification.
10. This application will be processed further. The department will forward the application to an inspection committee of the tourism department.
11. On a scheduled date, the committee will inspect the farm house. The inspection is carried out to check the maintenance, cleanliness, hygiene, facilities, infrastructure, safety and security arrangements.
12. Once the inspection is completed, the committee will recommend its observation in the checklist form for approval and registration of the farm to the licencing / registering authority.
13. The registering/licensing authority will evaluate the application, committee’s inspection report, police verification report and other documents that are submitted to decide on the grant of licence or permit for the farm tourism.
14. The status, viz. approval, will be conveyed to the applicant through a “SMS” or as per applicable norms.
15. The applicant shall follow the notification to get the registration certificate.
16. The certificate can be hand-delivered or sent through post or delivered as per applicable norms.
17. The whole process shall be completed within 15 days or as per the advised time period.

Note:

• Please follow the notification and guidelines of the department.
• The registration certificate can be displayed at the reception / office of the farm.
• The registered farm owners may use the term “Registered with Tourism Department, ‘State name’.” on their sign boards or on their other printed materials.

• Land records including registered sale agreement, patta, chitta, etc.
• Latest land / property tax paid receipt
• VAO (or patwari) letter as per requirement
• Passport size photograph (8 numbers)

Eligibility

• Applicant should be a citizen of India.
• Those who are 18 years and above are eligible to apply.
• The farm should have minimum 2 rentable rooms.
• The land should be free from encumbrances, litigation and attachments.
• The ownership of land should be in the name of the applicant.
• The land should be cultivable.
• The applicant should not have any criminal case pending against them

Fees

• Fee information and other charges can be obtained directly from the department office while applying.
• The applicant must pay requisite application fee Rs.5,000 or the applicable amount as appropriate.
• The fee can be paid through demand draft (DD) or as per the acceptable mode.

Validity

• The registration will be valid for 5 years or as per the validity mentioned on the registration certificate.

Instructions

• The applicants should ensure that the information and documents provided are correct and authentic.
• The applicant should make sure that the construction of the building in the farm stay is structurally safe.
• Any change in the ownership of the property should be notified to the concerned authority within 7 days or 30 days or as per the timeline as applicable.
• The department will cancel the registration of farm tourism, if found to have violated any terms and conditions of the scheme.
• The owner of the farm should provide medical and transport facility to the guests/tourists in case of emergency.
• Incomplete application will be rejected.
• Do not submit fake documents as a proof to get registered.
• Avoid spelling mistakes while filling the application form.
