Bhutan - Replace Lost / Stolen Voter Photo Identity Card (VPIC)
ProcedureEdit
- To apply for a replacement VPIC Card, you must first report the lost of your card to the nearest Police Station.
- Provide details of the event to the police and obtain a copy of the report.
- You will then submit the report to the Election Commission of Bhutan.
- You will also need to submit a completed application form and present your citizenship identity card.

The Voter Photo Identity Card (VPIC) is an important document provided for the purpose of exercising the right to vote in an election in Bhutan
It is the one and only valid document for identification of voters at the polling stations on polling day. Therefore, all voters are reminded that they must have the VPIC to be allowed to vote on Poll Day while they are also advised to carry with them the Citizenship Identity Card. In the event of any dispute related to the VPIC, the Citizenship Identity Card will form the basis for taking decision by the Presiding Officer.
