Procedure

Apply Online:

1. Fill the online application form by visiting the Department of Environment and Natural Resource website: Application
2. On the main page, click on “Report a feral bird problem” to open the application form.
3. Complete the application form with accurate information and agree to the terms and conditions at the end of the page then click on submit to send your application.
4. Upon receiving your application, the department will send a technical officer to your property to assess the nature of your infestation and determine the most efficient method to solve the problem.
5. After the assessment, the official will file a report with the department and obtain suitable tools for implementing the task.
6. Then technician will visit your property again and complete the required task.
   
   

NOTE:

• Methods include a variety of traps, nets, licensed shooting, and sedative bait.

Instructions

• If you are not the property owner, confirm with owner for the property before you submit this application or have them apply on your behalf.
• The application is subjected to terms and conditions that you must agree to.
• Put your trash bags into bins with lids to prevent birds and other pests from getting into them.
• Do not leave bowls of cat or dog food laying around outside. This will attract feral birds and other pests into your yard.
• Providing a regular source of food will encourage pest bird species to return to your property hence avoid feeding them
