Bermuda - Obtain a Marriage License

Apply In-Person:
- Obtain the Notice for Intended Marriage- “Form A” through the Government of Bermuda website: https://www.gov.bm/ or Download it via this link:Form
- Fill the form and attach any document that proves you are free to marry then submit it to the Registry general.
- NOTE:The "Notice of Intended Marriage" form, or other form of written consent, can be signed in the presence of a staff member at the Registry General, or in the presence of a Notary Public
- Pay the required application fee
- The registry general will verify your application and then publish a notice in the official gazette twice and for 15 days waiting period.
- After the 15 days without any objection to the marriage the Registry General will issue a Marriage Licence to you and your intended spouse (the licence will be valid for three months from the date of issue)

Marriages: On weekdays marriages are conducted at the Registry General Monday to Friday, between the hours of 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. On weekends marriages are conducted at the Registry General on Saturdays only, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 12 Noon
EligibilityEdit
- Persons wishing to be married should be 18 years of age at the time of the ceremony.
- Individuals who wish to be married and have reached the age of 16 but are under the age of 18 may be allowed to get married, only with the written consent of the parent(s) or lawfully appointed guardian(s).

Processing TimeEdit
- Fifteen days after the Registry General received a correctly completed "Notice of Intended Marriage" and all necessary documents was provided by the parties, the Marriage License (Registrar's Certificate) will be issued.

- 16 or over (but written permission from your parents is required if you are under 18)
- free to marry (single, divorced or widowed)
- not closely related to your intended spouse
