Bermuda - Apply for a Short Term Work Permit

ProcedureEdit

  1. Gather and prepare all the required documents for the application
  2. Obtain the Application form from the Immigration department or download it via this link:FORM
  3. Read the form carefully as it comprises of different sections and forms.
  4. Fill in the application form and confirm that you have all the required documents as mentioned in Section 5 of the form.
  5. If the work permit falls within a job category where a statutory council must be consulted, print the Referral to Statutory Council Form in Section 7 and have it filled and the medical clearance from in Section 8
  6. Pay for the application fees and attach the receipt to the application form.
  7. Write an application letter addressed to the Department of Immigration justifying your request and attach the application form alongside the required documents.
  8. The ministry will verify your application and with satisfactory results they will grant you the permit

  • Up to 3 months: $ 640
  • 4 months $ 750
  • 5 months $ 860
  • 6 months $ 970

NOTE: Emergency permit; this fee is in addition to the short term application fee. Where applications are submitted for more than one expedited short term permit, the additional fee of $550 will not exceed $2,600, provided all applications are submitted at the same time by the same applicant.

  • It valid for terms up to 3, 4, 5, 6 months and it’s subjected an extension within the proper processing period.

InstructionsEdit

  • Applications will be accepted for terms of up to three, four, five or six months.
  • At the end of the term of the Short Term Work Permit, the holder must leave Bermuda, unless the employer applies for an extension within the proper processing period.
  • Short Term Work Permit holders will not normally be granted permission to reside and seek employment.
