ProcedureEdit

  1. Gather and prepare all the required documents for the application
  2. Obtain the Application form from the Immigration department or download it via this link: form
  3. Read the form carefully as it comprises of different sections and forms.
  4. Fill the application form and confirm that you have all the required documents as mentioned in Section 5 of the form.
  5. If the work permit falls within a job category where a statutory council must be consulted, print the Referral to Statutory Council Form in Section 7 and have it filled and the medical clearance from in Section 8 of the application form.
  6. Pay for the application fees and attach the receipt to the application form.
  7. Write an application letter addressed to the Department of Immigration justifying your request and attach the application form alongside the required documents.
  8. The ministry will verify your application and with satisfactory results they will grant you the permit.

NOTE: The decision on what constitutes a new business lies with the Minister.

  • Additional information/supplementary sheet that includes company information and employer details, along with details on efforts made to hire local resources
  • New companies must also provide a certificate of incorporation and company profile.
  • New businesses that anticipate requiring greater than 10 work permits within the first six months of operation (e.g. relocating an existing business from another jurisdiction) and 114B companies will be required to present their Bermuda office staffing plan.

EligibilityEdit

To qualify for a New Business Work Permit, employers must provide:

  • a certificate of incorporation of a Bermuda exempted company or section 114B certificate
  • The date that the company has or will commence operating (if the first day of operation is not the same as the date of incorporation).

FeesEdit

  • One Year Global Work permit: $ 1775
  • Two Years Global Work Permit: $ 3150
  • Three years Global Wok permit: $ 4300
  • Four Years Global Work Permit: $ 5445
  • Five Years Global Work Permit: $ 6765

ValidityEdit

  • A New Business Work Permit can be issued with a validity period of 1 up to 5 years.
