Benin - Export Goods
ProcedureEdit
- The exporter should ensure that documents are completed before the consignment leaves the country of origin and at the destination to enable the consignee in the importing country to clear the goods through local authorities.
- After obtaining the necessary documents the exporter then forwards the documents to the Clearing Agent
- Then the clearing agent sends an export declaration with supporting documents to the Customs Officer charged with exports.
- The Customs Officer then verifies both the Customs entry(declaration) and the attached supporting documents such as invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, certificate of quality to check the conformity on standards, etc.
- A completed and signed Form is submitted by the customs broker/clearing agent to a customs clearance one stop shop, SocietedExploitation du Guichet Unique (SEGUB)
- SEGUB then issues a receipt/slip (Bordereau de Frais Unique BFU) to the clearing agent once the required clearing documents are submitted.
- The officer will validate the release order, print and issue the exit note to the clearing Agent.
