- The applicant then books Book an appointment at the Embassy
- The applicant then brings documents and Visa fee receipt on the date of your appointment.
- If satisfied the officials at the embassy or consulate issue a Beninese tourist Visa

- Copies of filled in Visa application forms
- Copy of a verified round ticket.
- 2 recent passport photos (46).
- Certificates which prove that the applicant has got enough money for accommodation in Benin;
- a valid passport should be valid at least for 6 months with effect from the date of entry into Benin.
- Insurance certificate from any insurance company
- An invitation letter from a person leaving in Benin or cover letter.
- Yellow fever vaccination certificate

- According to Benin department of immigration and emigration requirements Foreigners from most countries require a visa to gain entry into Benin.
- The Benin Visa should be obtained from a foreigners country of origin at a Beninese Embassy or consulate.
- On-arrival visa for Benin is given at a port of entry.

A Benin visa is a stamp or endorsement placed by officials of Benin on a passport that allows a foreigner to visit Benin. Visas are obtained from the Embassy or consulates of Benin. A Benin tourist visa is issued for a limited time of leisure travel and no business activities permitted.

All travellers must hold a visa except the following:
1. Citizens of Benin.
2. Travellers staying for no more than three months provided they are:
2.1. Citizens of Algeria, Bulgaria, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde Islands, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo (Brazzaville), Cote d'Ivoire, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Romania, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa and Togo.
2.2. Travellers with Chinese Taipei passports.
2.3. Travellers with normal passports issued to Citizens of People's Republic of China, except if they have passports issued by Hong Kong (A Special Administrative Region of China).
2.4. Travellers with diplomatic passports issued to Citizens of People's Republic of China.
2.5. Citizens of Israel with United Nations diplomatic passports who are travelling on duty.
3. Travellers staying for no more than two weeks provided they are:
3.1. Travellers with passports issued by Hong Kong (A Special Administrative Region of China).
4. Citizens of Cuba with service or diplomatic passports.
5. Citizens of Cuba with normal passports, travelling as relatives or as servants of Cuban service or holders of diplomatic passports.
6. Travellers with a return permit issued by Benin.
7. Travellers with travel documents issued to refugees and people without nationality or citizenship.
