How to Apply
- Eligible applicant should visit the Ministry of Water and Mines {MEM} General Directorate of Mines office, please view {office location and contact section below} for the address details.
- Express your interest to the MEM receptionist/ secretariat front desk and collect all the necessary application forms and fill them accurately.
- Submit the completed forms, along with the supporting document file {as listed under required document section below} to the MEM receptionist/ secretariat to be registered and recorded, and obtain an acknowledgment slip.
- Your application file will be forwarded to the General Directorate of Mines office for evaluation by the component department, who will carry out an investigation on the kind of impact the research may cause on the environment and the local population and send its recommendations to the interministerial commission, who will be convened to further assess the feasibility of the requested service.
- If the commission is satisfied that the research will be beneficiary and not of exceptionally serious consequences on the environment and to the local populations, the research permit will be issued within two months against the acknowledgment slip and identification document.

Required DocumentsEdit
- An allocation request addressed to the Minister in charge of mines and indicating
- The mineral substance (s) for which the permit is requested for;
- The description of the limits of the perimeter and the date of installation if a landmark is used.
- The general program and probable sequencing of the research work to be undertaken.
- The minimum financial effect that the applicant undertakes to devote to his work during the first period of validity of the permit.
- A copy of the company's articles of association.
- A tax certificate dated less than three months.
- A certificate of non-bankruptcy dated less than three months.
- A copy of the latest balance sheet, if applicable.
- A list of management members.
- Proof of the technical and financial capacity of the applicant.
- List of previous permits and concessions held, if applicable.
- A map of the area affected by the permit at the largest possible scale.
- A receipt of payment of fixed duty payable to the Public Treasury.

- The file is submitted in five (05) copies including the original copy

ValidityEdit
- The period of validity of the permit is three (03) years, it can be renewed twice for a period of three (3) years at each time.
