How to Apply

  1. You should start by visit a certified Architect office {view the contact list of certified architect via this link} Link and present the land title copy or any other title deed for the plot to be verified by the architect and discuss on the works you wish to carry out.
  2. The architect will then prepare a quotation of different cost that you were to incur i.e. {architectural studies, technical studies, soil studies, fire safety, monitoring of construction work, etc.} and if you agree to the services render a contract is signed between you and architect and an Architectural plan is then issued to you.
  3. The architect will then contact the soil study laboratory and gives the directives of the work that the client wishes to achieve. The laboratory study manager makes proposals on the various tests to be performed and establishes an estimate/quotation for the soil study.
  4. After making payment against the quotation receipt, you/architect the laboratory payment receipt, the accounting officer will then transmit the information to the soil study manager. The latter {soil study manager} contacts the architect to organize the visit to the construction site to collect the soil samples within 4 to 7 days.
  5. The study soil manager will then organize the visit to the site where the intended construction is to be carried out with the architect. He {manager} supervises his team on the various tests which are carried out on the site, records the finding and collect samples for further test analysis at the laboratory.
  6. You/architect will be issued the soil survey report within 4 to 15 days against the laboratory payment receipt.
  7. The architect heads to the civil engineer office with the {Soil survey report, Architectural plan} and negotiate directly with the civil engineer for the realization of the various technical plans and calculations to be made within the framework of the construction of the warehouse.
  8. The architect has to wait for period between 10-15 days to obtain the technical plans file contain the following plans {the detailed plan, the electrical plan, the foundation plan, the plumbing plan, the carpentry plan and the coating plan. Etc.} that will allow the construction of the warehouse from the civil engineer.
  9. The architect then heads to the Direction of the National Fire Brigade Group office, Prevention department and submit the technical file consists of the descriptive estimate and the architectural plans (level plan, sections, view of the facades, etc.) to be processed by the prevention officer and obtains the Received {GNSP} slip.
  10. The architect has to wait for a period between 7-15 days to obtain the safety and fire protection report against the Received {GNSP} slip from the head of prevention office.
  11. you/ architect should then head to the Cotonou Town Hall, One-Stop Shop for building permit and present the {original + 5 sample copies of Authorization request, Technical file (architect) and A joint ownership agreement (if applicable)} to the agent responsible to be verified, who then calculates the amount to be paid, draws up the payment bill receipt and returns the file.
  12. You/ architect should then head to the Recipe perception of the cotonou bride, cotonous town hall collection office and make payment against the payment bill receipt, that you were issued at the One-Stop Shop for building permit office and obtain a receipt of public treasury.
  13. You/ architect should then head back to the Cotonou Town Hall, One-Stop Shop for building permit unit, Studies and Building Permit Delivery Division office and present the {original + 5 sample copies of Authorization request, Technical file (architect), receipt of public treasury, Land title/ any other title deed for the plot} to the agent responsible for processing and obtain a Deposit Receipt {GUPC}.
  14. You/architect has to wait for period between 5-15 days to obtain the building permit for warehouse against the Deposit Receipt {GUPC} and nation identity card.

  • The building permit is the act by which a competent public authority gives an authorization for a construction project in accordance with the technical data, the legislative and regulatory provisions in force in the field of town planning. So, anyone who wishes to undertake construction for any purpose whatsoever must first obtain a building permit.
  • These procedures outline the process of obtaining a building permit for the construction project of a two-storey warehouse and the total constructed area will be approximately 1,300.6 square meters. The walls of each floor will be 3 meters high.
