How to apply:

  1. The first step is to visit the ministry of foreign affairs and corporation office with the required documents (listed below) and express your interest at the service desk.
  2. The documents will then be forward to the chief of protocol office who will verify the documents and if satisfied that all the documents are in order and authentic, he/she will write a letter stating that you meet the criteria set out in relation to Citizenship and Immigration Regulations act of Benin.
  3. Then you should Visit the Directorate of Emigration and Immigration offices near you, present the protocol letter and obtain the application form.
  4. Submit the completed form and the supporting document (listed below) to the attending official for verification and processing.
  5. Pay the application fees.
  6. Your biometric data (fingerprint, photo) will then be taken by an official at the office and You will then be issued with a receipt/acknowledgement slip, which you should carry with you and your original ID card when collecting the passport within 3 to 5 working days.

  • Copy of appointment contract (ACE)

InstructionsEdit

Kindly ensure photos attached on passport application forms are as follows:

  • Recent and Clear photos – they should not be blurred nor have a dark hue; all facial features should be clearly outlined.
  • Photos with full face and both ears showing.
  • Photos taken against a white background.
  • The size of the face should be 3.5cm x 4.5cm.
  • Weaves and hair should not cover the forehead or the rest of the face.
  • Decent photos- ladies should not be wearing strappy or strapless tops.
  • Attach 4 photos.
  • Photos should be without shadows in the background.
  • Photos should be taken without spectacles.
  • Optical lenses should not be worn unless you can show a medical certificate
