ProcedureEdit

  1. To open a bank account, go to the bank of your choice.
  2. Complete an application form.
  3. Present a valid identification (Social Security Card and/or Passport), along with a recent utility bill [not older than three (3) months].
  4. You will be required to present additional documents if you are opening a checking or if you are a non-Belizean.

Required DocumentsEdit

Belizeans and Permanent Residents:

  • valid identification (Social Security Card and/or Passport)
  • recent utility bill (not older than three (3) months to confirm place of residence
  • To open a checking account, the Bank would require a Bankers Reference from an established banking institution, or that the customer maintains a savings account prior to opening a checking account.


Non-Belizeans:

  • two (2) Bankers References from established institutions
  • passport or a notarized copy of the passport and one other form of identification.
  • recent utility bill (not older than 3 months).
