Belize - Apply for Tour Operator License

ProcedureEdit
- To apply for a tour operator license, you will need to submit an application form to the Belize Tourism Board.
- A link to the form is provided under 'Documents to Use' section.
- Submit the completed application together with all other required documents (see list below).
- Pay the non-refundable first time application fee of BZD $50.00 and license fee of BZD $250.00 payable to the BTB.
- It will take about 2 weeks for your application to be processed.

Required DocumentsEdit
- Completed Application Form
- Proof of Citizenship or Permanent Residency
- Copy of Business Registration proving the tour operator is legally registered
- Copy of Memorandum and Articles of Association and Certificate of Registration (applicable to companies)
- Recommendation letter from an individual within the Tourism Community in Belize and is in good standing with the Board here at the Belize Tourism Board
- Two photographs of the business: one of the interior and one of the exterior
- Two passport size photographs of the applicant certified by a Justice of the Peace or Notary Public
- Declaration stating that the owner(s) have not filed bankruptcy within the past five years certified by Justice of the Peace or Notary Public.
- Original Copy of Police Record (not older than six months; required every 3 years) for the owner(s)
- Certificate of Good Standing and allotment of shares (applicable to companies)
- Detail list of employees and tour guides. (Template provided. Copies of licenses must be submitted)
- Detail list of tour packages (Template provided. Required per tour)
- Checklist of all safety equipment to carry out tours (Template provided)
- License, Registration, and Passenger Liability Insurance for each boat and vehicle
- Copy of Public Liability Insurance/Tour Operator Insurance
- Emergency Plan for the Tour Operator
- Tour Operator Trade License
Note: All required documents must be attached as copies with the exception of the Police record as originals will NOT be returned.

ValidityEdit
All licenses expire on the 31st of December and are to be renewed annually.
Licenses are non-transferable and non-assignable.
