This procedure provides you information related to obtaining an Electronic Identity Card (eID). It replaces the identity paper for Belgian children under the age of 12. It is a secure identity document, it is accepted as a journey document in most of the countries of the European Union (please verify before departure). This card also allows the child (from the age of 6 years) to use the Internet safer.
