- kids-eID: 8 euro (to be paid on the spot)
- kids-eID (delivered within 5 working days): 128 euro
- kids-eID (delivered within 3 working days): 193 euro
For urgent request you must proceed at the Administrative centre and not at the liaison offices.
ValidityEdit
A kids-eID is valid for 3 years.
For change of address, the kids-eID need not be replaced. The address stored in the chip must be adapted at the municipality where the child is going to live.

Processing TimeEdit
For ordinary requests, it is necessary to take into account a delay of 3 to 4 weeks for the obtaining of the personal codes via a mail of the Internal Federal Public service [www.ibz.be.] After this, the applicant can pick up the Kids-eID at the Population service (also in the Administrative centre or in liaison offices).

Request to obtain an electronic identity card must be done by the person or persons exercising parental authority over the child. The presence of the child is compulsory. You can submit your request at the Population service.

Need for the DocumentEdit
The kids-eID is an electronic identity card for children. It replaces the identity paper for Belgian children under the age of 12. It is a secure identity document, it is accepted as a journey document in most of the countries of the European Union (please verify before departure). This card also allows the child (from the age of 6 years) to use the Internet safer.
