Belgium - Add Category in Your Driver License

ProcedureEdit

Go to the Driving Licence counter, bringing with you all documents needed in the process.
Fill in the application form, submit it along with all other required documents and pay the application fee.

Required DocumentsEdit

ID card
The request form supplied by the centre of examination after passing the practical examination
The driving licence (temporary)
1 passport photo (recent, identical and on clear background)

It is possible that authorities will ask for additional documents, it is advisable that you contact the service first.

Note:

Passport photos must be clear, on a plain background, taken recently and identical (size H 4.5cm / L 3.5 cms).

As a rule, the applicant must not wear any headgear. Headgear can be authorized for religious or medical reasons on condition that the face is completely visible. The forehead, the cheeks, the eyes, the nose and the chin may not be covered. On this photo, the head will occupy minimum 2,5 cms and maximum 3,5 cms. The background of the photo must be clear and uniform.

Need for the DocumentEdit

A driver's license is a legal document issued by the state. It expresses a persons capability to operate a motorized vehicle, such as a motorcycle, car, truck or a bus, on a public roadway. To add a category in your driving license, you need to pass the practical examination for that category.
