Apply In-Person

  1. The Applicant has to submit an application form to the Ministry of Finance.
  2. Visit the following link for Details Contact Link.
  3. The Applicant can download the Form from the following Form Link.
  4. Complete the application form with all details.
  5. After filling in all the details submit the Application Form along with the supporting documents as mentioned in the “Required Documents” section to the Ministry of Finance along with the corresponding Fee.
  6. The Application form must list the products that will be imported, together with estimates of total amounts for a 12-month period.
  7. The estimated Stamp quantity is based on each individual package of tobacco that will be imported into The Bahamas.
  8. The Application will be reviewed by a representative from the Ministry of Finance, who may request more information and evidence if necessary.
  9. Once all of the conditions have been satisfied, the Ministry will send an email to the Applicant informing them that the document is available for collection.
  10. When the application is granted, the Applicant can take the document to customs and present it each time materials and supplies are imported.

EligibilityEdit

The Excise Stamp (Tobacco Products) Control Act, 2013, requires individuals and corporations intending to import tobacco products in quantities greater than five cartons of cigarettes, one thousand cigarettes, two hundred and fifty cigars, or five pounds in weight to register. Under the rules of the Diplomatic Privileges and Immunities Act, persons importing tobacco products are not required to register.

  • Replacement copy of certificate - $ 20.00
  • Certification of extract/ copy -$ 50.00



ValidityEdit

The registration certificate is valid for a maximum of two years.
